St Cuthbert's Centre

St. Cuthbert's Centre was opened and blessed by Bishop Seamus Cunningham in September 2010. This was a result of two years of grant applications, fund raising, refurbishment work and time and effort given freely by our own faithful working group by cleaning, painting, decorating, carrying out building repairs and other work. If you need to know where the Centre is situated, please click on the name below and this will take you to a map of the Centre's l

We were very honoured to have the Centre formally opened by HRH The Duke of Kent in October 2010 at which he signed our visitor s book and met and talked with the various groups who use the centre and those involved with the re-furbishment.HRH The Duke of Kent also planted a tree, which was the start of our garden.

Since then, thanks to the many donations of roses, planted in memory of loved ones, and to a successful bid for a Community Fund Grant from Durham County Council, a lovely garden of remembering has been established. A stone wall raised bed and a new covering to the old playground have been added. The garden is open to anyone who would like to spend a quiet moment and will also be used for any future events and celebrations, weather permitting. Grateful thanks to all those who voted for this project.
